This is Linkin Park's The Catalyst. Linkin Park is a very popular band, I know most of you have heard of them. This video is from their newest album 'Ten Thousand Suns.' This time, instead of being all "headbanging rock," in the old days, they made this new album with a slower beat. I love this video and their new album This is their best masterpiece yet!
Linkin Park has truely put in a lot of time in this video. A 5 minute meaningful video talking about how mankind had to accept their fate in a time of despair. This video has included a lot of gospel values for example "God bless us everyone, we're a broken people living under loaded gun." This tells us that we have to ask God for help when we need it most.
This video wasn't really influenced by people much. Linkin Park just followed the theme of asking God for help in bad times. The only influence was from the director Joe Hahn. When coming up with the idea for the video, Hahn said he thought about what it would be like if mankind had to accept their fate in a time of despair. So they decided to use Hahn's opinion to create this video.
The video was truely amazing, all the cinematography, acting and performance, choreography, storyline, special effects, lyrics, and musicality work went so perfect together. All the visuals went according to the theme. The acting and performance was in a sad mood. The effects were slow to match the mood. The lyrics were well linked with the theme, and the music was so good since the tone was softer than their other songs to match this song's theme. Also judging from all the people running away from the town, it truely gives the impression of mankind accepting their fate in a time of despair. This is truely amazing!
When I first heard the song, I thought it was just a good song and all. But after viewing the video, I realized that the song had meaning to it. It had gospel values, and the fate of mankind in a time of despair. Now I truely think this song is the top on my computer and iPod.
